Task 3: Lesson Plan

LEVEL : Form 4 (Intermediate to Advanced)

TIME: 80 Minutes (2 Periods)

AIMS: To find specific information on a Website, to practice vocabulary that can be associated
with chakras and inner self.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

One computer per group of 2-3 students with an Internet connection, a Web browser and email.

PREPARATION:

1. Locate sites dedicated to chakras and inner self.
2. Set up an email account for communication purposes between teacher and students.
3. Using the information on the sites to prepare worksheets.

PROCEDURE:

1. Ask the students whether they experienced of going to spa or massages. Ask what they know
about chakras and inner strength.
2. Distribute worksheet 1 and asks the students to fill in the blanks. Give the students some
times to answer the questions. Ask the students to answers everything that they know and
inform the students that the answers are available online.
3. Ask the students to open the site (www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/introduction.php) and
ask them to complete the task sheet.
4. Teacher discusses briefly about chakras with students and asks the students to find out more
about their own chakras online.
5. Teacher distributes the second task (worksheet 2) and ask the students to complete the
chakras test online.
6. After completing the chakras test, asks the students to fill in their result individually in
worksheet 2 and answer the question given below.
7. When the students have finished, discuss their result. Teacher deals with the vocabulary
problems that the students encountered and discuss the unusual facts that they just learn.
8. Teacher picks up 1 or 2 students randomly to share their result.

FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY:

1. Ask the students to form a pair and ask the students to observe one another within 1 weeks
durations of time to prove whether the chakras result is reliable or not. Write a short report
about it. The task should be submitted at the end of the week through e-mail. The teacher
will discuss about it in class discussion.

  1. Unique choice of topic, very different. If you happen to actually conduct this LP make sure the topic does not defy the students' religious beliefs.

  6. i've tried this with rawai.. very interesting... hahahaha... but i hv 2 agree with Dr Izaham.. some students might feel offensive esp the extreme religious people... nice leen!!

  7. try this with raihan..super fun!you'll know the unrevealed side of yours.try this at school and be surprised to know the real you. this is what students love and for sure they gonna love it.
